Overview

Once again, the Canberra Million Paws Walk is going to be an exciting event, enjoyed by members of the community from Canberra and the surrounding region as well as their much-loved pets.

Whatever your age, whether you’re a pet owner or not, you’re invited to join in the fun of the day! Cam and Lisa from Canberra’s MIX 106.3 will be there along with WIN TV’s Jessica Good.

Of course, it’s also the best day out for all the dogs at the RSPCA ACT shelter, who are looking forward to making lots of new friends and hoping to find a happy new forever home.

Arrive early to register, so you can then relax and enjoy the fantastic entertainment – such as the famous Walk of Fame – with lots of activities that you can take part in or just watch!

Test your pet’s skills and increase their confidence with agility, obedience or Flyball; create a unique work of art, try a fake tattoo or have your pet’s portrait taken; even enter Canberra’s very own talent quest, Pup Idol!

There are also great gifts and merchandise to buy for you and your best friend; bag yourself a top-quality t-shirt or cap, a dog coat or bandanna, or even a pedometer! – with all profits going to support the vital work of the RSPCA in the local region.

Plenty of refreshments are on offer too, from our Lion’s Club BBQ to tea and coffee, donuts, and sweets – plus lots of treats for your four-legged best friend!

The Walk itself starts at Stage 88, Commonwealth Park, and follows a scenic path around the edge of beautiful Lake Burley Griffin.

Walkers can enjoy a picturesque 5km walk around the central basin of the lake (approx. 1 hour in duration), which takes in many of Canberra’s icons, including the National Portrait Gallery, the Carillon, wonderful duck ponds, and sculptures.

Register an an individual or form a team; set down a challenge to your workmates or bring your family and friends; and, help us by promoting the Million Paws walk on your website or noticeboard. Whatever you can do, get involved in the best day out in Canberra for people and their pets and support the RSPCA!
