Located out on the northern side of Canberra is one of the best short walks around. The Walk around Yerrabi Ponds is only a shade under 4km and it is great to walk any time of the year. The path is sealed all the way around! The area has built up over the years, but it is still a nice green belt in the middle of new suburbia!
You can park your car at the ample car parking off Wunderlich Drive (southern side). There are new public toilets around and there is also undercover seating and BBQ if you want to have a picnic afterwards. There is also the Waterfront Restaurant which is located further up which looks like a nice place to have a meal.
It’s a fairly easy walk. Reasonably flat and it is impossible to get lost. Just keep the lake to the one side of you at all times. It use to be my training walk when I was living in Amaroo, so it was good to walk it today and still see a few walkers, runners and cyclists doing their daily routine!
